Starting with Firewall Cloud

Repository Firewall is offered as a 'software as a service' (SaaS) through our multi-tenant solution. Firewall Cloud reduces the time-to-value by skipping the work needed to provision hardware to deploy and the costs of managing the self-hosted IQ Server.

There are a few steps you need to do to get started:

  1. Create your tenant

  2. Designate your support contacts

  3. Configure Repository Firewall in Nexus Repository Manager

  4. Add repositories to the Repository Firewall

Create your tenant

  1. Visit my. sonatype. com

  2. Select the Sign In button in the top right corner of the page.

  3. Select the Sign-Up link at the bottom of the page to set up your new account. Use the email address where your license was sent when registering.

  4. After completing the sign-up process, choose Organizations from the drop-down menu under your profile name

  5. Name your organization using your official company name

  6. Verify your license by adding the license fingerprint found at the top of the license email you received

  7. Once the license fingerprint is validated, the tenant name will be automatically generated from your official company name. Provide the email addresses of the users to administer the tenant

Designate your support contacts

Once your organization is created, you can add as many members as provided by your license.

Four (4) members of your organization may be designated as authorized support contacts and will have full access to the support team. Other members should direct questions through these contacts.

For issues setting up your organization or adding support contacts, visit support.sonatype.com and select “Submit A Request”.

Create your service account

We recommend using a service account to connect your Firewall tenant to Nexus Repository. This account will need to be granted access to tenant configuration. This will be managed by your security administrator. You may use Sonatype's identity provider or one managed by your organization to create the service account.

Using Sonatype's identity provider

  1. Visit your tenant and sign in using Auth0.

  2. Select the settings icon on the top right; Select Users

  3. Select Invite User; fill in the user details form, and Save

  4. Select the profile icon at the top right and select Manage User Token

  5. Select Generate User Token and save the token credentials

Using your identity provider

  1. Create a designated service account for server configuration using your identity provider

  2. Visit your tenant and sign in using your designated service account credentials

  3. Select the profile icon at the top right and select Manage User Token

  4. Select Generate User Token and save the token credentials
