Backup and Restore
Use the Backup and Restore documentation to plan how to protect and recover the database, blob stores, and file-system data used by your Nexus Repository deployment.
The backup and restore process depends on the database and storage used by your deployment. For PostgreSQL-backed deployments, manage the PostgreSQL database backup and restore process using PostgreSQL-native tools or the backup capabilities provided by your infrastructure provider.
Back up the database and repository data at approximately the same time to minimize differences between the database and blob store state.
PostgreSQL-Backed Deployments
PostgreSQL is the recommended database for production deployments. Start with Prepare a Backup to identify the Nexus Repository data that must be protected.
See Backup and Restore a PostgreSQL-Backed Deployment for the PostgreSQL backup and restore workflow.
If you run Nexus Repository in Amazon Web Services, see Backup and Restore in Amazon Web Services for AWS-specific database, blob store, and file-system backup options.
H2 Deployments
For deployments that use H2, see Prepare a Backup to back up the corresponding blob stores, node ID, and other required data.
Nexus Repository provides the Admin - Backup H2 Database task for H2 deployments. See Backup and Restore H2 Database for more details.
Disaster Recovery
Backup and same-site restore is a foundational deployment pattern for protecting against data loss and data corruption.
If your recovery requirements extend beyond restoring a backup at the same site, review the Deployment Pattern Library for disaster recovery and resiliency patterns.
